He is a professional football striker playing currently for the Trinidad & Tobago national football team as well as one of the top clubs in the country, the Sunderland Football Club. Jones started his football career with the FC Joe Public in the year 2002. The same year he made a move into the W Connection football club, where he had a very short spell till the year 2004. In 2003, Jones was called to play in the national squad for the match against Finland, and he was positioned as a utility player. In the year 2004, he joined the giants Southampton football club, and became one of their main strikers very soon. He got loaned out to the Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday clubs in the 2004/05 football season.
